Herbal Chai: A Warm and Aromatic Drink

Herbal chai, also known as masala chai, is a popular Indian tea that offers a comforting and flavorful experience. Unlike traditional black tea, herbal chai is made with a blend of herbs, spices, and milk, creating a rich and aromatic beverage.

Ingredients:

  • Black tea leaves or tea bags
  • Milk (almond, soy, or cow's milk)
  • Water
  • Sugar or honey (optional)
  • Spices: cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, nutmeg, saffron

Preparation:

  1. Boil water: In a saucepan, bring water to a boil.
  2. Add spices: Add the cardamom, cloves, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, and nutmeg to the boiling water. Simmer for a few minutes to release their flavors.
  3. Steep tea: Add the tea leaves or tea bags to the spiced water and let it steep for 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add milk and sweetener: Pour in the milk and stir well. Add sugar or honey to taste.
  5. Strain and serve: Strain the tea into a mug to remove the tea leaves and spices. Serve hot.

Tip: For a more intense flavor, you can crush the spices before adding them to the water.

Enjoy your warm and comforting cup of herbal chai!
